Personal Introduction!

by Kid Concoctions Company on 02/24/10

It is a snowy cold day here in Cleveland, Ohio, where we live for now. On days like today, I let myself feel spoiled by working in my sweat pants or sometimes even my pj's for at least part of the day, it is a little secret endulgence for someone who finds herself busy and traveling far more than she expected she would.  Somehow it makes me feel spoiled and lesurely, if even only for a few extra hours. Since I just started this new adventure of Blogging, I wanted to say thanks for joining in,  with a spirit of patience, as I learn the ropes.  I have always had a gift for talking so hopefully this will be easy. One disclaimer from the begining, every since college, I did excellent in creative writing but my grammer and structure of the english language was lacking far behind.  You most likely will find many gramatical errors in this blog, much to the aggervation of my gifted and talented writing daughter, Kalie, who is 20 years old and in college.  Short of hiring an editor to help me, or emailing these files to my already too busy daughter for editing, I thought I would just let you know up front what to expect.  My heart is  to share with you little glipses into our lives and journey and share with you tips and inspiration that will hopefully encourage each of you and your families as well.

For those who don't know us well, my husband, John Thomas and I started the Kid Concotions company about 19 years ago with a business journey that became more personal for each of us.

I was a single mother of three beautiful young children(Danita Pagel, as seen on the first book we co authored together) and I  never imagined I would suddenly find myself a divorced mother. I started working with John in 1995 doing television demonstrations of our kid's crafts, activities and projects.  We started on local television, regional shows, and amazingly started doing national shows.  Many years later the business grew from television appearances, to book publsihing, to licensing our brand name, to speaking engagements, to educational conferernces to amusement park attractions, and more and still continues to take us places we never thought it would go.

We ended up getting married to one another in February 1998 in a Fairytale Wedding at Walt Disney World.  It was the beginning in another chapter of our lives that would bind us personally as well as business partners.  In March 2001 we had a son, Christian after many attempts and heartbreaks of trying to have a child together.  This journey opened our eyes to a new sensitivity to those who try and face a difficult road of growing their families.

Now it is 2010 and we are living life just like all of you.  A lives are a journey of juggling our four children, our marriage and our business together.  We have many blessings and many trials and struggles.  Each of these experiences mold us into what we are today and what we are to become.  Like many of us, I think we grow more from the triasl than I would like to admit, not that I want to welcome an abundance of newstruggles into our lives. Somethings we do very well, and some very poorly, just like most of you I imagine.

We have grown much through the years and are at a place in our lives and hearts where it is important for us to not only grow into the best version of the people God created us to be, but to help inspire and make a difference in the lives of others and impact the world we live in for good in what ever ways we can.

Ok, this is a blog and not an autobiography so I will just stop here for today. Through the years we have gotten so many touching letters and emails from Mom's, Dad's, Grandparents, and new friends we never knew we had.  Thank you for all your years of support and encouragement in what we are doing.  Sometimes your letters were just what we needed to continue after a long day.

. I would love to hear from you as well.  Let me know if there is anything special you would like to know from us, whether it is a question about a Kid Concotions project or activity, "Mom" stuff, or anything else that is on your mind.

So now go enjoy some moments with a child in your life today and come see us again!
